The U.S. Department of Labor officially rescinded the 2024 Biden-era overtime rule, which had been vacated by the courts late that year. The move was unsurprising, per attorneys, as DOL has been signaling it would do so for some time, but it does formally rescind the automatic threshold adjustments that employers had been eyeing. The salary threshold remains at the level of the 2019 rule, $684 per week.

The majority of HR professionals surveyed by the workplace learning firm said they have watched their workforce stay silent about workplace concerns “often or very often,” according to the firm’s recent report. Seventy percent of managers surveyed said they had never been coached on how to give or request feedback before rising to their roles, which may be part of the problem, the report posited.
