Among business operations skills, HR skills came in third place overall, following customer service skills and administrative skills.

Employers may be shifting to “always on” pay conversations, according to Payscale, as opposed to the typical set-it-and-forget-it style that pervades most organizations. Workers have more access to compensation information than ever before, driving these conversations. Pay transparency laws are also prompting changes to how employers discuss pay.
