Midlands Growth Could Be Boosted with Targeted Business Support

Big Business Entrepreneurs (BBE) is urging for greater and more targeted support to help unlock the full economic strength of the Midlands.

According to the latest data, the West Midlands region contains 965,903 companies, making up 8.1% of all UK businesses. Despite this, business activity is concentrated in key urban hubs, leaving surrounding areas behind.

Adam Stott, Founder of Big Business Entrepreneurs, said: “With vast industrial heritage but stark variation in business density, the Midlands is primed for business coaching to help founders scale and close the gap between its strongest and weakest-performing areas.

“The Midlands has long been one of the UK’s industrial engines, and today remains a region of enormous potential but more targeted support is needed to help business owners achieve that potential.”

BBE highlights coaching as a practical solution to reduce this imbalance, helping founders develop confidence, strengthen digital capabilities and implement effective growth strategies.

Adam Stott added: “The Midlands has world-class talent, industry and innovation, but many small business owners struggle to access the structure and support needed to grow. Coaching gives them a roadmap so they can increase revenue, hire staff and contribute more fully to regional economic prosperity.”
