ZipRecruiter is the latest job platform to release ChatGPT app

ZipRecruiter is the latest online job board to release an app for ChatGPT, per a Thursday announcement, reflecting a potential shift in job search trends.

The company joins Indeed in launching a native app for ChatGPT, one of the most recognized generative artificial intelligence platforms in the market.

Through the ChatGPT app, job seekers can prompt the AI by typing “@ziprecruiter” with a job title as well as location to get job results, per a press release. Job seekers can view listings and then click through to the ZipRecruiter platform, providing employers with more potential views for their listings.

Indeed’s app — announced in February this year — works similarly. U.S. job seekers can connect an Indeed profile through the app and perform job searches through ChatGPT. That app also directs searchers back to the native Indeed platform.

“While we’re offering more ways for people to discover job opportunities, Indeed’s website and mobile app remain the primary places to apply to jobs and connect with employers, helping to maintain a trusted, familiar path from discovery through application,” according to Indeed’s announcement.

Indeed also noted that employers may benefit by having extended reach for their listings.

The rise of ChatGPT and other large language models has heavily disrupted the job search market. A late 2025 report from Aimwel indicated that Google’s AI Overviews have prompted significant decreases in click-through rates for job ads. Paid ads were also pushed further “below the fold,” per an Aimwel LinkedIn post.

Recruiters, more generally, have turned to AI amid shifting markets and increased pressure to find talent, various surveys have shown. For example, more than 90% of talent professionals recently surveyed by LinkedIn said they planned to grow their AI use in 2026 to meet hiring goals.
