Healthcare costs are expected to continue to rise and are predicted to increase nearly 10% next year, according to a study from professional services firm Aon.
In response, many employers said healthcare cost spikes compel them to make tradeoffs with wage and salary increases. At the same time, nearly a quarter of U.S. workers said they’re staying in a job they dislike because they don’t want to lose their health insurance.
A vice president at the Business Group on Health recently said employers are at “an inflection point” as actual healthcare costs keep exceeding BGH members’ projections.
