Starting Tuesday, jobs sent through single-source XML feeds to Indeed will no longer be visible for free if they can be sent through an applicant tracking system, according to the company.
Indeed is encouraging the migration to ATS integration “because they provide improved reliability, data quality, and consistency,” an Indeed spokesperson told HR Dive.
Jobs sent through a single-source feed will only be visible if they are sponsored. Feeds from nonintegrated ATSs, however, are exempt from this policy, the spokesperson confirmed.
Employers still have other visibility options if an ATS integration is not available, Indeed said; for example, Indeed will still scrape publicly available career sites, and any employers that do not migrate “will continue to receive organic traffic” via those sites.
Job search trends have shifted overall due in part to the emergence of generative AI platforms like ChatGPT. Indeed, for example, now has a native app on the ChatGPT platform, as does ZipRecruiter. More broadly, the emergence of Google AI’s search overviews have directly affected click-through rates for many job ads, a recent report indicated.
