The number of years since former President Gerald Ford signed the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, known as ERISA, into law. The law, signed on Sept. 2, 1974, now covers a range of employee benefits, from private pension plans to healthcare benefits.

The percentage of workers who fully disconnect while on vacation, according to a Perceptyx report released Aug. 22. Of the nearly 3,000 workers surveyed, 7 in 10 people said they work to some degree during vacation.

The percentage of U.S. parents who reported having high levels of stress the past month, compared to 20% of other adults, according to 2023 data from the American Psychological Association. That research was cited by the U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy in an advisory published Wednesday that called for employers to support working parents.

The percentage of employers who say their employees are financially stressed, which is up from 71% last year, according to PNC Bank’s second annual Financial Wellness in the Workplace Report. Three in five U.S. workers reported living paycheck to paycheck, the report found.
