Employers that are recipients of federal grants may be required to participate in E-Verify if a proposed rule published at the end of May proceeds through rulemaking. The White House Office of Management and Budget said the requirement would be an “additional safeguard” to ensure all workers and contractors performing work under a federal award have employment eligibility. The public can provide comments on the proposed rule until July 13.

Artificial intelligence tools may make work both more enjoyable and more difficult, according to survey results released by Boston Consulting Group. Employees are thus experiencing a “joy paradox,” the report said, particularly as AI technology changes the workplace at an unprecedented speed.
